Need Help With Dvd Shrink Please!!!!!!!!!

I didn't know how to respond so Ive started a new thread. I'm not the brightest bulb on the xmas tree. As I said earlier, my copies always skip and freeze and it tends to be okay in the beginning, but it gets worse as the dvd goes on. It's not always at it's worst at the end, but it usually starts deteriorating in the middle, gets better for a while and then gets alot worse. Its not always like that, but that tends to be the norm. I've pasted the burn log below in the hope that someone can help.

Sometimes the burn fails completely and it always says 'power callibration error'. I don't know what that means, if someone can englighten me I'd appreciate it.

Upgrade to 6.6.0.18 if you want to burn directly from shrink or to 6.6.1.4 if you want to burn manually. See my signature for the links.

You have a lot of back ground programs running. Turn them off as they may interfer with the burning. See my signature for both links besides Windows XP for some more hints to run leaner!

Get rid of the InCD as it is known to conflict with Nero while burning DVDs. See my signature about InCD and Nero. Get the tool to remove it from Nero 6 tools in my signature.

I clicked on the link to firmware, and it has a big caution message of how this could destroy my drive. Are you sure this is safe? Am I at risk, particularly as how I have no idea what it all means. Which link to click on to do the download, if it's safe that is?
Could someone also tellme what 'power callibration error' means please. When the burn fails, that is the message that I get. It happens if I burn directly through DVD shrink, and also sometimes if I burn manually with Nero.

If you choose to flash the firmware as advised, do it from safe mode with no disc in drive. The very first time that I did it, I had exactly the same thoughts as you did before I took the plunge.
