Nero CD-DVD 4.7

Is there a reason why I can't do the "disk quality" check with Nero CD-DVD 4.7? All the other checks work but with "disk quality" the start button isn't clickable. I have started and restarted the program but it won't work. Samsung DVD-RAM +/- RW drive TS-H652L is the drive.

Thanks Soup. I follow you up to the Blocked entry which refers to samsung, plexor..... If I right click on blocked i see modify, modify binary data, delete, rename.

When I right click on blocked I see Blocked "value data edit string" and the name of the drive (Samsung) and plexor

OK or CANCEL

I don't have the modify or remove option.

If it looks like this Samsung,Plextor-you would left click after the comma & backspace Samsung out then click OK, you are done.

Soup why would the software Nero block Samsung and Plexor. Can you think of a reson?

Find the Disc Quality Scan Thread & post a screenshot in there, it's in this Forum (Blank Media & Burning). To take a screenshot, when the test is done & you close out of the window that pops up. You are left with just the test screen /Alt-PrintScreen will capture the active window / Launch Photofiltre (I will supply link) / right click in window / paste as new image / save as (whatever you name it) / post in that thread.

Some burners are blocked because are not reliable to do scans. Some other are blocked because hardware doesn't support at all scan feature.

Plextor drives are blocked because of licensing problems. Plextor don't want his drives supported by a free software, forcing in this way people to buy Plextools

LG doesn't have statistics - it is not blocked.

And while 84% does not seem like a good score, the PI/PIFs are OK (if a little bit out on the ECMA standard). Probably the jitter. These "score" computations are very subjective. Only look at the standard - PI/PIFs and keep jitter under 10%.

My LG when I had it was blocked by Nero, I have since removed the block & the only one left blocked on mine is the Plextor.

Edit: sorry Art has posted 2 scans in the Disc Quality scan thread, believe the 84% is the better of the 2.
