Randomly stops burning

My dvd burner stops working at a random spot when I try to put big files on the disk. I usually use Nero, but I tryed other programs as well, so i dont think that its the software's fault. It seems to work fine for few min, but then the progress bar just stops moving and nothing happens- the light on the burner keeps flashing like before and there is no message telling me wtf is happening. This is really frustrating for me, i waste about 5 disks per one that actually finnishes burning sucessfully. I had the same problem with my previous burner too, and when I replaced it with this one, it actually stopped the same way when I was testing it as the store (but it resumed and finnished buring the small file few min later). Here is a log of my latest attempt with nero...Ask for more info if needed, but please help me!

I have no idea what that means, but in the link it says that its dangerous. Are you sure that this filmware thing can have something to do with the problem and how exactly do i do it without frying my burner?

If you choose to flash the firmware, do it in safe mode with no discs in drive.

2. un hook the other 2 drives before flashing the firmware and follow soup's directions
3. are you trying to burn a data disk, or a video disk from an iso?
4. there's way too much running in the background, shut some off and free up some resources
5. that sonic/recordnow might be causing conflicts
6. for now upgrade to nero to 6.6.0.18

1. Nope, havent upgraded power supply, that actually seems like a possible cause. Will disabling the other drives and possible other hardware during the burning prosess help out much? How is it done through the computer (without actually opening up the box and disconnecting them.

2. Will probably try this, but not today.

3. The last 10 or so times I tryed to burn divx movies to data disk, this is my first attempt at putting multiple disks of a non- dvd format on a disk. Before that, I had this problem when burning movies with DVD Shrink.

4. Yeah, I try this every time. I shut down unneeded processes that use up ram and I even disconnect the internet. Sometimes it helps, but It still freezes like 8-% of the time.

do no good and cause a lot of conflicts, nero uses it's own aspi driver and causes no system conflicts

you'll have to open the computer and physically unhook the other optical drives, probably a lot of dust bunnies slowing fans and sapping power also

make sure the dvd burner is hooked to a power connector closest to the power supply and not sharing with other connections

REALLY good advice, thats man! Ill try it as soon as I buy new disks.
