I had a problem burning a dvd recently. I have never had an error like this and I've probably burned around 150 dvd's. Any thought on why this occurred? Could it have been a poorly made iso? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Whats the movie and region?
Plus, im not an expert on reading these logs, but looks like a lot of memory in use.
Wait for the experts to diagnose.

Thanks for the quick reply. I only have 256mb of memory and it failed after a fresh restart. Also, it's a backup of one of my xbox games. My 25 to Life disc is getting pretty scratched up so I thought I would make a backup copy. I had to use a program called craxtion to make my iso image from the disc. It could have been a bad iso image. I'm not sure though.

well I am assuming you had a 20 gig hard drive and 256 megs of ram and added the 250 gig hard drive and reloaded or upgraded to xp

I am guessing you have a slow cpu

xp has a heavy footprint, so in a low ram situation with limited cpu I would never burn over 4x

now on to the main problem? nero is not identifying your disks

download imgburn and insert a blank and try to get a mid code
cdspeed/disk info will also tell us

you might want to update your firmware also

I had a 20 gig hard drive, and I added the 250 gig as my master hard drive. I then loaded xp on the 250 gig and slaved the 20 gig so I could transfer over any files I needed. My processor is a Pentium 4 2.0ghz. I upgraded my NEC 3550 dvd burner's firmware to the hacked firmware that allows booktyping with any media. I have everything turned off in the background, so nero is getting all the CPU power it needs.

After messing around and trying a few things, I was able to make a successful burn. I downloaded a different program to make my iso image. The program is called QWIX. After I remade the iso using qwix, I decided to try the burn once more. I was able to complete the burn at 8x.

What system requirements would be recommended to burn at 16x with no burn errors and optimal performance? Is my cpu fast enough right now? I appreciate the help.

something is defintely wrong when it's not identified

well if there's a nero advocate here is this forum, I guess it's me

course I have more luck with it than most

but then I have never downgraded to nero 7 from nero 6

in your case I would only use nero for burning cd's slowly

                use imgburn for dvd's
