Nero - Burn error, but DVD seems OK??

    Hi,

First post! I've just used Nero for the first time to make an exact copy of a TDK DVD-R (to another TDK DVD-R). It gives a 'burn process failed' error. There are all 0's in the Media Specific bit that I think indicates that a firmware upgrade may be needed to get the rewriter to recognise the TDKs - is that right??
But in any case, the new DVD works fine on the PC and in both my DVD players - so is there any need to fix the error?? Maybe the error was just in the verify??

    Thanks!

    welcome to the forum

PS I'd post the Nero log, but it won't let me add an attachment
change you font back to default

hit go advanced for attachments but just copy and paste the bottom/last log
    from nero

    in the nero folder

Thanks Chewy, the font got messed up when I pasted from Word. It's OK now and the log is attached.
Frankly, computers just drive me nuts. I must be in the wrong job - I'm an IT consultant!

I'll give the firmware a try. But if the DVD appears to be working OK, do I even need to worry about the error message? Can Nero give misleading error messages when in fact there is no error (or at least no error that affects the end result)?

use the scan disk in nero tools/cdspeed

might be a crappy burn but you have real good players
