    Question about DVD R/Ws

I'm still not used to the process of using Shrink, Decrypter and Ripit4me. It appears that the software automatically finalizes the disk at the end of the burn, correct? If this is the case, is it impossible to burn onto a DVD r/w disk so that one can reformat the disk later to reuse and re-record onto it?

What program are you using to Burn?
You will most likely need to Erase Disc, full. A quick may work, but if not do a Full Erase.

If you are using Nero, bottom of screen hit MORE.
If you are using Imgburn, Tools, Drive, Erase.

      Hope this helps.

You can burn to an RW disc like any other. None of the software you've mentioned does anything to the disc to prevent using it again.
Be sure your drive or players accept and support whatever media type you wish to use.

I realize this now! My bad! What I didn't realize is that I need to manually reformat the r/w disk before I can write over it again. Me being stupid.

the first use should a full format

after that you shouldn't have to each time

I'm probably misusing the term "format." The burner does need to "erase" the disk -- which appears to take about 2 minutes -- before it can record over it. However since I first posted the question, I found the setting in the burning software that tells the burner to do this automatically when its an r/w disk.
