Burn process failed at 2.4x (NERO)

    Hello,

I am using WIN XP home edition. Nero 6StartSmart. Nero Version: 6.6.0.6 (Nero Express)

Every time I try to burn data (images, documents etc) to a DVD (TDK, 1-16x 4.7GB DATA/VIDEO) I get below error message:

burn process failed at 2.4x 3324KB/s

I have tried to un and reinstall and also tried with different dvd`s. I have also de and increased writing spead...still no luck. CD`s work...but there is not enough space on them to backup what I want to back-up.

Please find the NeroHistory Error log below.
Hope someone out there can help!

    Thanks!
    Michael

Well you could start by updating your Nero & then while not bad, you might want to do something about memory. You also might want to read & use The Golden Rules & maybe take a look at ImgBurn for your burning needs, it is Dvd Decrypter's burn engine updated.

better stick with cd's or see if your burner likes some older 8X quality blanks

have you checked for a firmware update from the laptop's manufacturer

reading at this page you will see flashing those family of drives is a dangerous
operation and I reccomend against it

better to buy an external dvd burner and use it and save the laptop one for other uses
