Go into device manager and select the appropriate drive, right click, properties, Drive Region tab.
( DVD Decrypter can set it also.)

there is no drive region tab when i look in the properties for this burner. and when i try to change it in dvdd it says failed. do i need to reboot and then try again? The burner in question is a liteon SHW-160P6S

Is it a region free drive? Did you update firmware that might have made it region free?

please excuse my ignorance Dan, but I believe so......will dvdd recognize it as such when a dvd is in that drive? or continue to give an error message, ask to set region, then the error message disappears. Or should I just use my region 1 drive for that purpose?
