Record from DVR

O.K....I know I ask a lot of questions, but I'm pretty sure this is my last one...Is there a way to burn my recorded programs from my DVR box to my computer, then to a DVD....I don't have an actual set top DVD burner, just the one on my computer...my DVR does however have a USB port, but I wasn't sure if that's something I can just hook right up to my computer...Thanks in advance for any answers

It's from Charter Cable....

I know it's a Scientific Atlantic brand, does that help any?
