Be on the lookout for bad packageing by Verbatim....someone got single layer DVDs in a DL 10 pack at Office Max. If ya buy any anywhere, I would open the pack before I left the store to avoid any hassles.
On the subject of old media going bad, I was worried about that when I bought 200 ricoh 4x dvd+r's, they were some of the most consistent blanks
I have ever used with pif totals as good or better than most batches of new verbatims. A while back somebody sold a bunch of TYG01's that had probably set in the back of a warehouse for a couple of years, they scanned so good, they sold out in a few days.
Chewy, a few weeks back a newbie posted a very extensive ( report?) on how he determined that DVD-R + where so much better then the DVD-R s.
But it disappeared from the forum. What happened to it ???

Of course there IS the issue of booktyping/bitsetting (which is not, as far as I know, doable on -R's)....
