      Jake,

You may want to take a look at this one.
      At Solutions:
Uncheck the burn with Nero option in the I/O settings tab in DVD Shrink preferences.
Only if is is still giving you problems.

          Hey my brother....
I don't use nero to burn with.. ImgBurn. I have ONLY been using Nero for Speed reading the quality of the burns.
I promise. Did you see something that I did not in the logs?

              Chewy...
Yes.. I had to use the samsung for burning that DVD because I couldn't get the USB one to read when using ripit4me. It just recycles when trying to load the data. I am unding config and working that out here in a few min.. I will give you the results. And my quality of burn was went down in the last few days... I am cleaning the heads and things making sure disk new and source are clean. PLEASE I found the post where you had me upgrade the first time for the sony ware, then you noticed after I had done THAT there was a little newer version, I am ready to get it now I am more confident in the things I am doing. (I was scared before because I was getting quality burns and did NOT want to screw it up) As you see... I am coming along and have made made great strides it's only taken 200 post and the reading of 500 or more to get me there and a little help from my friends!
              Thank You Chew!

                Jake,
I know you are not using Nero to burn, but I just want you to make sure this is not checked. It has caused alot of PP to have issues. Shrink, Edit.

This may not have anything to do with your current issue, but we don't want it to be an issue in the future.

There is one volume called something like PRE0NNW2.ISO, if i remember correctly when I used the shrink the back it up it stopped in that SAME place the first time.. I gave it a few days trying to think about what could have gone wrong... when I tried again with the shrink it started backing up at the 98% it left off, I thought about it.. renamed PRE0NNW1.ISO to PRE0NNW2.ISO to see it would change the situation, and THIS time it did a full anaylasis again (not starting at 98% but 0%) but when it got to the 98% it failed again.. hope that helps thanks
at the time of the shrinking the disk it was on(source) was about 1/2 full and the target is like 3/4 it did not give me any this is too full errors and I have defragmented recently and have a windows registery
repair pro that has a defragment registry also i use.
where the hell is scandisk on this thing?

                          updating chewy

                          Thank you sir!!!!!!!!!
Here is the defrag scan shots you asked for,
Also which .exe do I need to use bro? THERE are four in this zip!!!!!!

                          832S.CY58.patched-cf.exe

                          832S.CY58.patched-cf-ledfix.exe

                          832S.CY58.patched-cf-liteonid.exe

                          832S.CY58.patched-cf-liteonid-ledfix.exe

These things may help you.. I don't understand them:
                          Code Guys CGxx Firmware

                          CGxx stands for:
                          CG Code Guys firmware
                          x1 Code Guys version number (0..9, A..Z)
                          x2 Base version number (B for VS0B, E for VS0E, etc.)

Versions marked with "sonyid" have the drive name changed to match that of the Sony DRU-700A and are not based on the Sony VYxx firmwares. Aside from the difference in the drive name, the "sonyid" versions are identical to the regular versions. These "sonyid" versions can be useful if you have locked OEM software that will work only if your drive bears the Sony name.

This firmware has been design to improve the quality of burns when using +R, -R, +RW and -RW media. It uses a stepped recalibrate that stops the burn periodically to recalibrate, which means shorter periods where the drive has to maintain the correct optical power control. This same technique can be seen in the NEC 3500AG. Results now show that this firmware can produce results equal to and sometimes better than the NEC 3500AG.

This firmware will not be the fastest firmware for your drive. You have to decide whether you want speed or quality. In saying that this firmware can burn 8x media almost a minute faster than the NEC 3500AG.

This firmware is not designed to allow you to overclock you media past the manufactures rating. In fact it requires you to use your media at the limits imposed by this firmware. Changing the write speeds of media in this firmware will seriously limit the firmwares capabilities to improve quality. However should you decide to overclock media anyway, this firmware will still perform better than VSxx firmware.

                          Note:
The drive's light will blink orange more often during the burn and some additional PIF spikes are inevitable on some drives, due to the relinking after the recalibrate.
The +R recalibrate stops at 3GB on 8x burns to avoid read errors on some drives that don't relink well past this point. -R appear to link better than +R so it will continue to recalibrate to the end of the burn.

                          Stock firmware media changes:
                          RICOHJPNR01 changed from 4x to 8x

                          Change log CY58:

                          18 Feb 2005
Sony ID versions had RICOHJPNR01 fallback disable.

You will probably want to run this flasher through the OmniPatcher and customize
the firmware to your liking before loading it into your drive.
                          OmniPatcher download link: http://codeguys.rpc1.org/patchers.html

I don't understand much of it....

I want to ask a stupid question.

                            No, I will wait.

No, which drive are you using to backup your movies?

                            Edit: Bad ratboy, bad.

No, I mean which HD do you use to rip to and create the ISO before you burn.
