    DVD +R/W Dual Layer?

Does the "r/w" on a DVD dual layer disk mean the same thing as it does on a single layer DVD + r/w disk? -- That one can re-record on it?

The RW should mean that the disc is rewritable.

Unless this is something completely new I don't think it is a Rewritable.

At least I have not hear of any rewritable DL disk.

You are correct Ratboy.. Wonder why a DL disc would say R/W?. Must be looking at the alliance stamp at the bottom of the disc?

I didn't think there was such a thing as a re-writable dual layer disks either, but the Verbatim cakebox I just got today has the r/w symbol on them. I did a quick search on the internet but didn't turn up much. Same symbol as on my single layer +RW disks. Thanks.

Does it actually have "RW" & it is not beside the "Dvd+R DL? Could it stand for Read Write Memory?

So you intrepret the meaning that the disk is simply suitable for DVD+RW drives? I guess I was under the impression that this symbol (and the font style) was created for recordable cds/dvds to stand for "re-writable."

However this is what I found on Wikipedia:

Many people think they have Rewritable discs due to the DVD+R's group poor choice of a logo.
durn confusing, was a bozo choice for a logo tho
