cant burn with DVD+RW on NERO7 though it should be compatible

    Hi all,

I've been trying to burn a DVD+RW with different data content, but it fails at the end of the burning process every single time. My dvd burner works with other CDr and DVDr but for some reason makes problems with rewriteables even tho my burner supports all formats...

i've saved a log of the burning process from nero 7ultra...

here you go: and thanks for the help.

    Formatting disc failed
    it never really got started

try erase disk, full erase rewritable first

if that doesn't work try imgburn or cdspeed

dead wrong there, sorry to let the word erase confuse you, it's really formatting, just like you format a floppy or a hard drive before you can use it

full erase is necessary before first use, after than you just write over old data

cdspeed is a test software with extras

imgburn is a burn software, probably the best one, except it doesn't do everything(almost)

please use the search button, it's very educational

I know it's a big forum but you have a lot to learn, it's a steep mountain

            fair play...thanx for the explanation...

i've just tried both full erase and quick erase using nero, but both of them dont work... it simply pops the dvd out of the drive and comes up with invalid command error.

i dont know what to do anymore.it used to just burn rewriteables without asking anything...now there's all these issues with burning them, and in addition to that, i cant access my DVD drive from MY COMPUTER, when i double click it it says :
D:\ is not accessible incorrect function

            is this related at all?

open up imgburn and under tools see what's running in the filter drivers?

reboot your computer with drive empty first, windoze gets real confused

this is what i got...havent got a clue what it means... i managed to sort the problem of doubleclicking my DVD drive, now it opens it, but instead of my drive being called a DVD-+RW, its not just shown as a CD DRIVE.... i dont understand why it does that....

and of course, when i erase disc, it still shows the same issues...

filters are clean, no nasties running

have you ruled out the disk is bad?

                        tried another one?

is the burner working fine otherwise?

cds are new...tried about 10 from a pack of 50. so there's no way its the cds...its verbatim and they are good.

the burner works with all other cds....

now, when i put one of the DVD+RW into my drive, in my computer, it changes the drive name from DVD to CD..... wtf?!?!?
