    Lg Gsa-4166b

    Any recommendations on updating firmware for this particular burner? Currently version installed is 1.00

    I believe if you search here that you will find 1.02, just plug in GSA-4166B.

      Thanks soup, i found the new version on that page as well as the lg home page....the ne from firware page says 1.02(EW), and the one from lg doesnt, whats the difference? if there is any?

        I agree but I can't see them being different, maybe somebody can explain what the (EW) means.

          would like to know what the (EW) means as well...I flashed with the LG homepage version....while I'm at it, is this set up for IDE channels ok?

              I've done some reading on this subject, but I honestly don't have a clue of how to change from primary to secondary....I will indeed wait for some help...thnks

                    beach you have a sata hard drive, soup a pata

                    soup's looks right

                    beach, your sata has got some weird drivers(see a lot of them) which makes the sata show as a secondary

                    your sata shows it's hooked to an ide controller, obviously not
                    just the way some companies do their drivers

                      @ Chewy, is there anything I should do? or is all ok this way?


                      I flashed the 4166B burner I have to the 1.02 fw, and all readme's say it should be alone on the secondary as a master, I uninstalled and unhooked my other burner(since they are on a shared cable) and flashed in safemode.

                      what do you you think of this burner? better than the hp940 I flashed over to a lite-on?

                      too bad nero speed doesnt work with this lg

                        sometimes it causes problems, other times it's fine, just make sure that your
                        burners are running with the standard MS ide drivers

                        everybody did the sata differently, but they all seem to work
