Question regarding DVD-R/CD-RW combo

Hello,

I'm getting soon a notebook Toshiba Tecra A2, what I know regarding it's drive is only that it's DVD-R/CD-RW combo. What should that mean more specifically? I mean the compatibility.. Can I watch with it DVD movies? can it burn CDs? DVDs??

You can write/burn only CD's

Thanks. More specifically, what types of DVDs can it play? As I know, there are several dvd types like +, -, left, right, layers etc..

It should read any pressed movie discs. (originals)
