Burns to 99%

I'm new at this and have been doing fine since January..until the last 2 weeks. Now nothing burns. I've posted at ImgBurn but thought I'd try here too. Running Rip It (DVD decryptor/Shrink/ImgBurn) it's fine until the 99% done of the ImgBurn then I keep getting this (have tried several DVDs):Oh great..I click on the "insert Image" and nothing happens...how to I insert the screen shots here??

Are you trying to burn a single ISO image ... OR and a multiple file MDS (i.e., created by ShrinkDVD) image? I used to use an older version of 'burnatone' with DVD authoring which created a single ISO image, on an external FAT32 formatted drive (4G file size limit), and had the same issue. Once I switched over to MDS files (created by DVDShrink and burned using Imgburn), the problem went away. I always had the problem however.

If you are creating an ISO with shrink and then burn with IMG, stop, and use IMGBurn to build your ISO...

I'm using RipIt which then uses DVD Decrypter and Shrink then ImgBurn. I think that the ISO is being created by Shrink. How to I change that?....do I not use Shrink at all?....then how do I use ImgBurn to make the ISO.....ok, I said I wasn't a techy, lol. Which also means that your help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!

lower your target size to 4300MB and burn at 4X with everything shut down

those sony dvd-r's have been a problem, probably got several bad disks with bad dye spread at the outer edges

Now I'm having another problem. I've tried 4 pre-recorded DVDs and get the same message about scratches. I'm thinking it's my DVD Recorder.

1 - Do you think it's my drive?
2 - If so is there a fix or way to clean it? I've already updated the firmware (yesterday).

I would rule out some basic computer issues before saying your drive was bad

looking over at the burn log in the imgburn forum, your drives may be a mess?

I'm thinking the drive is a problem since every single dvd gives me that message. Is there a way to clean the drive.....a kit or disk?
