Backup successful with Ripit4me but freezes 3/4 through movie

I am using Ripit4 me Version 1.7.1.0, DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0, and FixVTS 1.603 to backup DVDs. I am using Vertabim Single Layer DVD+R media. The program burns successfully with no errors but when I try the movies in any DVD player, it looks like a perfect backup until i get about 3/4 through the movie and the movie freezes up and stops, and I cannot get past this point. I have used this program to backup roughly 8 different DVDs and this is the case with all of them. Any suggestions?

Can you post a burn log? If you are using RipIt4Me version 1.7.1.0, it has adapted FixVts in to the program, so it should not come in to the picture.

Can you do a transfer test with Nero CD/DVD Speed? I wonder if your burner is going??

Do the DVDs play in your computer all the way through?? I wonder if it is your standalone player that is screwed up then. (over heating?)

The DVDs freeze in my computer, my 2 other DVD players and also in my XBOX 360, so I know that there is nothing wrong with the DVD player. Unfortunatly I haven't saved any burn logs but I will post one next time i try to backup. I will try a transfer test right away here and see if anything funny is going on with the burner. The burner is fairly new and the drivers are updated so im not sure if that's the problem.

must be burning at max and your burner is not that good

course your power supply might not be able to handle the increased laser power at faster speeds

can only guess when there's no concrete data to go on

should have guessed it would involve a laptop dvd burner

                    lower burn speed to 4x

Just for future reference, that was a rip log not a burn log. You rip to your hard drive & you burn to a blank disc.
