ImgBurn. Burning at 1X doesn't sound like Nero, it sounds like you are still in PIO.

Thats what I thought too Soup...but I just looked again and the secondary IDE Channel is reading Ultra DMA Mode 2...at least when it was in PIO it was still going at 4X..

Derree I noticed only 30% free resources on burn log. Anything new or different running that may be causing a problem?

Does that burner still have lots of life in it? I don't know if your a burn nut like some of us fellas, LOL.

That is what I am worried about as well Dan...I am as you put it a burn nut. I would say I have gotten around 900-1000 burns out of this since I got it around 2 years ago...and no there is nothing new or anything different running then before...sigh....and nothing else is running slow on my pc except this now..I have thought about adding some ram but might have to buy a new burner instead...gonna try imgburn first tho see if there is any difference..

Well it's good to narrow things down anyway. It's possible with 1000 burns it is nearing the end.

Maybe chewy will have a few ideas to find out if it's got a bit of life in it, or if it's shopping time, lol.

The bright side is good burners are quite cheap so it will be a low cost upgrade if needed.

very true Dan..well the last disc I just did with nero (at 1X) when it finished there was nothing on it..so I am now trying it with shrink using imgburn to see if that does anything...what I need is to find a way to test it...
