I am trying to shrink some avi files to fit to a DVD. I don't know if I am to use Nero, DVD Decryptor, or Magic Iso!. Can someone help me? Am I to covert the files into something different? A nice tutorial would also go along way.
Plenty of tools can do your job.TMPGEnc Plus+TMPGEnc DVD Author, DVD Flick(freeware), ConvertXtoDVD to name a few.If the resultant DVD exceeds the size of your blank, use DVD Shrink to shrink. Multiple guides are available. Search using keywords like "AVI to DVD".
amani622 asked, ok if I use Flick will I still have to use DVD Shrink?
No, set target size in project settings..
4.6GB and how do you use DVD Flick w/Decryptor?
Why use decrypter at all, open avi in flick....
4.6 GB of avi are alot you may want to put in to few disks so the quality is close to original
Actually,it may not be a lot. 1 hour of DV-AVI is approx. 13 GB .Uncompressed will be even more. The size of AVI does not matter. What is important is the duration of the video file.
When I try to use DVD Shrink a error message come up saying
their is not enough space on your target drive. Can someone help me
because I have tried everything and nothing work.
I also have problems with Nero when I try to use it a error comes up while burning saying their is not enought space on the disk and the file is small. Smaller than 4.7. Please help.

good post paglamon
when I tried to clip a 3 minute segment out of a regular avi with vision, I almost crashed my C drive, choosing vision temp and no compression that 3 min avi was over 4 gigs
rahz60th,
why are you so obsessed about Shrink? You may not need it at all.As shrink0 had pointed out,in DVD-Flick set the target size(in Project settings) to DVD 4.3GB. What is the duration of your avi file?
