That message means that you are asking your drive to do something that is doesn't understand...as stated post your log, a firmware or media change could be the cure.

hey locoeng i try to check firmware they seem to be up todate. but i am no expert in that! does not matter what media i use from cmc to verts or burn speeds.

Download Imgburn and make your burn with it, use the verify option and see if the burn comes out OK. Your discs would be fine, but I wouldn't burn any slower than 8X and the firmware update may help.

The one I linked you to is where I found yours...it was the second place I looked. The first was here: http://www.tdb.rpc1.org

EDIT: I've been known to frequent AD on occasion.
EDIT #2: I didn't even look at the "HL"...GSA, GWA etc. always mean LG drives.

Read the text document for instructions...

The winflash6n is a utility, it will flash the drive for you...make sure there are no discs in the drive.

I wouldn't worry about the letter designations...GSA is Dell OEM I do believe, each OEM has it's own designation and then you have the factory models as well. To much for me to keep up with, but google will give alot of information as well as CD Freaks on these drives if you are really interested.
