Problem Burning Dual Layer with Nero

    Hi.

I'm not sure what's the brand of my DVD-RW recorder, someone else bought my PC for me with the recorder built-in. But I believe this recorder can take Dual Layer blank discs. If there's a way to check, let me know.

    My PC's specs:
    Windows XP SP2
    1GB DDR-RAM Memory

    I'm using NERO 7.0.1.4 > Burn DVD-Video Files.

The media I'm using is RICOH DVD+R DL 8.5GB (gold/white cover sleeve).

    I got this error message:

    Windows XP 5.1

rock king, Try switching from those Ricohjpns. Verbatim for dual layer recording is highly reccommended as it's about the only media that works right. Also perhaps you should try using Imgburn to burn your DL image............

ImgBurn is a lightweight CD / DVD / HD DVD / Blu-ray burning application that everyone should have in their toolkit... and it's free!

I think you'll like it over Nero.
    Oils well thats ends well.

        Hi.

Thanks for the tips Chewy & Kev.

But I still wanna know what the log is trying to say. Is it really because of RICOH media or is there something wrong with my PC / recorder?

Has anybody got similar problems with NERO 7 or RICOH DLs? IS my NERO / it's driver out of date?

With IMGBURN, do I have to make an image file first (like .IMG or .ISO) then burn it? OR can I just burn the VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS files?

I'm not sure what's the brand of my DVD-RW recorder, someone else bought my PC for me with the recorder built-in. But I believe this recorder can take Dual Layer blank discs. If there's a way to check, let me know.

        CHEERS!

          1. your burner supports dual layer and your firmware D108 needs to be updated to the dell's I linked to

          2. nero has problems with dual layer

          3. experiment with the rest of those ricoh, don't buy more
