3 dvds wasted backing up Documents and Settings folder

hi guys, not posted on this forum for a while so excuse my knowledge of stuff.
today i have set myself an important task.
i am going to back up all my documents and settings folder.
i have already prepared dvd disk 1, with 4.44gb worth of stuff.
the problem is, when i hit burn
it starts caching the files and at around 80-81% the caching dissapears and it immediately starts burning, thus it doesnt complete 100% caching of files.
and when burning the buffer read level is always low around 25% or lower.
and when the burning reaches around 80% it fails and writes a short lead out.
i thought it was a one off.
so i tried it again, and the exact same thing happened.
this time i saved the log.
    here it is.

at first i thought it may be something to do with my hard disk, but ive got plently of free hard disk space to store the cache.
then i opened the log, and noticed it cant write a file, because it says its already being accessed.
so i restarted my pc, and tried burning my third attempt, but this time i was in SAFE MODE
unfortunetly the same thing happened, and i wasted another disk.

can anyone please help me, and suggest how i can go about backing up successfully with nero.

    thank you

ok so i will miss that file out.
do u know of any other files that may conflict with the backup?
i want to backup as much stuff as possible, or i will feel guilty later on, that i never backed it up.

        yes too many to list

just move or copy all data to a folder on your desktop and back that up

          ok,
          i got an idea....
how about i try simulating a burn, and if anothe error occurs, then il, save the log again and check what caused the burn to fail etc..
but do u know how to turn that on in Nero Express?

Yes, best to make a copy of the files somewhere else, and then burn the copy, because Nero itself might have some temporary files in the "Documents and Settings" folder, and you'll never be able to make a proper burn.

I think the Nero Suite also come with a backup tool.

one file at a time, that might take forever

              not a good idea

You could try Window's 'Files and Settings Transfer Wizard', if you want to do a complete backup.
