Hello there! I'm new around here
I've been having problems with my burner and I suspect it has something to do with the DMA.
I tried uninstalling the IDE drivers and editing the RegEdit, but I still keep getting this in Nero's error log:
According to Infotool, my dvd-r drive has DMA enabled
I've just learned about DMA so I might be making a mistake here. Anyways, the weird thing is that, under IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers in Device Manager, there are two Primary IDE drives. There is also one Secondary Drive. They're all set to DMA if available. The first Primary IDE Drive is set to UDMA 5, the second one is set to UDMA 2. The Secondary IDE drive is set to Not Applicable. When I uninstalled the Secondary IDE drive I wasn't prompted to reboot.
I'm really at a loss here, I've tried different burning programs and different Blank media, both DVD-R and CD-R (including Maxell, which I suppose is decent, right?) resulting in a lot of coasters. I don't know how to fix this.
Help would be greatly appreciated. I'll post the Infotool result if you guys think it could help, don't want make this thread a big unreadable blurb.
P.S: You guys have a bunch of weird smilies.
