Consistent problem with Nero and burning dvds.

I am using a Dell Inspirion 8500 with 512 megs of ram.
I have an external burner on a USB 2.0 port and an external Maxtor hardrive with my image file.
Ive been able to burn one in 10 disks and now I cant seem to burn anything without an error and a ruined disk.
I bought some disks recommended of various dvd authoring sites, so im pretty sure its not the blank thats the problem.
Here is my log file from Nero.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks Brad

    welcome to the forum

sonic and nero don't mix well

usb2 is a slow interface and burning 8x media at 12x is iffy to start out with

slow down your burn speed to 4x and test

you have too much running on your computer
