They were showing something at 2AM that I wanted, and it happened to be two hours long. Since it was important to me, I thought I'd use a DVD+R DL (which the recorder supports) instead of a normal one, so I can still use the HQ setting.
Then froze the settop. Well actually it said "INVALID DISC"
I clicked Direct Navigator, and that froze it. I think it wrote one massively huge title and didn't write the layer break, so the reader had no idea what to do.
But shouldn't you be able to at least see the first layer in that scenario?
when you double click the dvd when it is in the drive can you see any file in there if there is then you can copy the file to your HD then work from there, if not there is no help
The only thing I notice is that usually it says "DVD-RAM Drive (D: )" when there's no disc in there... and you can double click it to use Windows Burner or whatever. But when I put this disc in, it changes to "DVD Drive (D: )" or something like that, and says to please insert a disc when I double-click.
So if a DVD+R DL is burned without specifying a layer break, it's permanently ruined?
--EDIT--
LOL, apparently doing drive letters in parenthesis makes smiley faces.
