DVDR3390/37 Philips Recorder

Hello,
This is my first post and I hope it is posted in the correct place.
After recording 4X DVD+RW media on the above machine the way to make compatible to play on any DVD player from my understanding is to enter "TOP MENU" and click on "Make Compatible". The problem I am having is that I do not have that option under "TOP MENU" on my machine. Options are as follows ( Play, Rename Disc, Erase Disk, Record New Title, Overwrite Disk, Lock Disk ) Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it? Any constructive comments will be appreciated. As a side note the firmware is up to date. Also It makes no difference what speed whether HQ, SP, LP etc. that I record at.

Would that mean finalize? Give it a try

Finalise is for +R disc's and Make compatible is for +RW disc per the instruction manual. I have no problem with the +R disc ,,,,,just the +RW Disc's. I cannot play them on anything except the DVD recorder/player 3390/37. Thanks for the suggestion.

I looked up lock disk and it's just for making sure you don't edit over content later in the recorder

dvd+rw's are supposed to just record and then play without finalize or make compatible
