Cant burn - doesnt make sense

    Hidy Ho All-

Okay, I tried to solve this dilemna on my own. I viewed previous posts and went through the steps to try to figure out why I cannot burn on blank media.

I am using Taiyo Yuden Premium Line White 8x-DVDr from Supermediastore. I use them all the time on my other systems (I have a Rimage and 3 other desktops) so it's not the media even though the Nero reading is giving a bunch of 0's.

I tried burning at both 8x and 4x with no success.

The computer has no problems reading from the burner. I have both a ROM drive and the Burner drive and it will read the disc 100% with no problems, it just gives errors as soon as it tries to burn. It doesnt even begin to burn.

I just purchased a new burner to replace my old Pioneer that came with this system, thinking it was a burner issue. My new burner is a Plextor 716A. I am using this same burner in my Rimage and another desktop so I know it is compatible with my media. I thought the burner might be the problem, but I am still not able to burn with the new burner. The burner came with the latest firmware which I verified.

I am using Nero Burning Rom. But I have also tried another AOA DVD copy program so it is not the software. So if Nero WAS bad or corrupted, if I used another program it wouldnt be the issue, would it?

This computer has backed up DVDs just fine before and I have made no changes to the sytems at all besides exchanging the burner and I dont understand why I cant burn blank media anymore.

I have exhausted all options to try troubleshooting, so your help is desperately appreciated. Below is one of my Nero error logs.

    Thanks!
    Nicole

My best guess is you have hosed/corrupted the system bus, that spti interface that nero is using to burn

we should take a little time to fix it

let's get a better burning software, both of those mentioned are easily corrupted themselves

Imgburn would be my choice to test and troubleshoot with

We need to also reconfigure your hardware

      Tried it with ImgBrn

Okay, I tried to burn with ImgBurn and no go...

I didnt take a whole lot of time to familiarize myself with the program. I "think" I did it right. I just wanted to do a straight copy from the DVD in the ROm to the blank DVD in the burner so I chose Write File/Folders to Disc and then selected the Video folder and then selected all the VOB files from the Rom drive and then clicked Build?

Anyhow, here is the error log

well that disk wasn't a total waste, it sort of confirms my hunches, let's fix windows first
don't burn another disk yet tho

there's a filter driver load order tool, post from clipboard
we need to get rid of that old pxhelp for sure

the aspi is also a problem

now the hardware configuration is a disaster waiting to happen, have you upgraded your power supply to handle all those extra drives

if that was mine I would disconnect the scuzzi(probably throw it away)

I would the plex to the end of the cable and jumper master and disconnect the liteon also, later you can probably put your old burner in if there's enough power available
