CompUSA Brand?

I was just using some gift cards I got for Micro Center for my birthday...
And noticed they had clearance sales on CompUSA stuff. I bought a 30-pack of DVD+RWs, since it was only $12. The media ID says DAXON-D42-00 in ImgBurn... is that any good?

They had Verbatim DVD+R 100-packs for $25, so I got one of those as well I just figured, for rewriteable, does it really matter what the MID is? If it loses your data just format and write again?

Any insights as to whether or not these discs are any good? Usually I'm hesitant about using store brands, but at least they aren't CMC.

And does it really matter when it comes to rewritables? Or you mean they won't get as many writes as, say, Verbatim?

If you only use RWs as a brief test, then it wouldn't matter so much. If you use them as part of a regular backup data strategy, then beware.

And, no they won't last as long.

Well, my intention is to use them for settop DVD recordings. That way, I can rip them, cut the commercials, re-author and burn to a normal (and good media) DVD. Without the hassle of wasting good discs on nothing.
