Hi,
I'm a newbee to this furom, so...
Ok, on a DVD, there are usualy subtitles (usualy more than 1 stream). The normal way to get those subtitles in text form is to de-multiplex the stream and do some OCR on it (using eg SubRip). You end up with a text file with lots of mistakes like small L instead of capital I, ...
I know that most DVD's also contain "CC", Closed Caption, data. This is a data-stream, embedded in the video signal. It also contains subtitles, but in text format!
Does anyone know a program which is capable of extracting that subtitle information out of the stream, and decode it?
This would speed up the subtitle extraction a LOT, because you just extract text out of the stream, instead of images, and you can skip the OCR step and the correction step(s)...
Thx in advance,
Nielchiano
