jumpy dvd playback

I have a celeron 500 with 320 MB RAM, Win XP Pro, Powercolor ATI Radeon VE 64 MB TV out, but I still get a jumpy playback in PowerDVD XP Deluxe (in other players to). It used to work well on Win98/ME, but now it is not. I have activated DMA transfer mode, but I don't know if I have to do some other adjustments.

Have you enabled Hardware Acceleration from within the player option?
