Firmware loader command line question - drive location

Hi all, on this site I found this info:

"If your drive is not secondary master, and you don't want to dissassemble the PC use command line parameters of the firmware loader program. (e.g. upg5a.exe /X Firmware_file.HEX where possible X values is the following: 0-PrimaryMaster, 1-PrimarySlave, 2-SecondaryMaster, 3-SecondarySlave. The Firmware_file must be the proper name of the upgrade Hex file e.g 115F_122.HEX) "

I downloaded the 105f_133 firmware from http://www.firmware.fr.st/ for my Pioneer DVD-105. In the readme provided there it says nothing about changing the drive location parameter.

Is it still safe for me to change it to 0 as instructed in the other stite? (DVD is Primary Master, CD-RW Secondary Master, HDD is on RAID-controller)

Presumably you have one of the A05/105 family of Pioneer drives. The Readme says you should have the drive set as Secondary Master because the "Upgrade" batch file is written only to work with that setting.

If you want to use a direct command rather than the batch file, entering "/0" as the parameter should not cause any problems. You can check whether the flash utility correctly recognises that your drive is set as Primary Master by running UPG5A.EXE without parameters. Then exit and run the program with the full command line.
