If I Get WinDVD 4 Plus, a Audigy (DD 5.1) Sound Card, and 5.1 Speakers will DTS work?

    Hi All!

Could You please answer this question:

If I get WinDVD 4 Plus, a Audigy Sound Card (that puts out Dolby Digital 5.1), and 5.1 Speakers will I be able to take advantage of the DTS feature found in WinDVD 4 Plus? or will I still need a receiver?

Thanks for Your Help and Time!

    Love You!

    Hi All!

Yippy! Yippy!... It will work without a Receiver!... Check this Quote:

    "Software Based Method

Step 1: Make sure your PC has a DVD-ROM drive.

Step 2: Install software-based DTS decoder such as Cyberlink’s Power DVD or Intervideo’s WinDVD.

Note: there are multiple versions of this software, so check to confirm it includes DTS decoding ability.

Step 3: The DTS output will be either multi-channel or two-channel depending upon your soundcard.

If you have a multi-channel soundcard you can either hook up 5.1-channel external computer speakers or use audio cables to the analog inputs of an A/V receiver.

If your soundcard is two-channel, the DTS decoder will automatically downmix it so that you can hook up a pair of computer speakers."
