    Editing VOB files

The problem is that I am trying to edit a DVD that I created some time ago and have no longer got the original mini DV tape.

I need to edit one of the VOB files. I have demuxed the VOB in question to its individual smaller VOB files and located the file (vob) that I wish to edit. I can load that into one of the video editing programmes that I use like VideoWave V5 and edit the clip and then output the required section to a new file. So far so good. The problem is that there is no audio when working with the VOB within VW5, I guess that it just cant take AC3. If I play the VOB before editing using WinDVD it is fine with audio but the edited VOB output by VW5 has no audio.

I even tried demuxing the VOB into its separate m2v and ac3 files, again I can edit the m2v file but cannot edit the audio. Is there a way of editing the video and audio together using some software application that I could use.

What I want to do is remove a small section from the VOB (about 30 seconds wants removing, the run time of this VOB is just over 9 minutes) so that the finished file is just over 8 minutes in length with the embarising scene removed.

Use Chopper.exe, available at the DVD Digest link at the top of this page...
