Quicktime 6 & divx

I have had problems to play divx files in quicktime 6, a message appear saying that cannot find the required codec, actually I don't use quicktime to play avi files but I just want to know if this awful program can play divx. I'm using quicktime and divx under WinXP.

If you understand (and appreciate) that the primary purpose of the PC version of Quicktime is to allow PC users to view and listen to Apple-format media, I don't believe you'd refer to it as an "awful program"...

All quicktime players have "issues" with playback of divx/xvid content.
