Playback of any DVD is zoomed

Up until a few days ago all DVD playback worked just fine, but the something happened and now any DVD I throw in the drive is played kind of zoomed in. The image is stretched from the center in all directions (most visible in "The Fifth Element" language select screen, Gary Oldman isn't there on the left of Bruce Willis). Is there any way to fix/work around this?

I have tried three DVD software decoders, and the end result is the same...

    Thanks to anyone who helps

solution found and explained in the thread called 'only center part of DVD movies visible', thanks to 404error.

basically, go in the overlay controls of your video card, and switch to 'out' instead of 'in'.
