WINDVD PLATINUM is in my opinion the best software dvd player. However, it does consume noticebly more sytem resources than POWERDVD

        My Selection....

I have both too. But I preferred using PowerDVD. Cause I like Speed function in PowerDVD, and It had capability of Dolby Headphone.

WinDVD has support for 7 or 8 speaker setup, PowerDVD only supports 6...

...but, WinDVD always runs the last played media file by default on opening...which can be a pain.

the speaker setup doesnt really matter for me because we only have a 5.1, 4.1, and 2.1 systems... but surround is good
