You MUST have a dvd-rom drive in your pc to rip movies, the reason is because dvd drives have better (less thick) lasers which can read (or write if its a dvd-rw) closer and in smaller places on the disc.
You can't play dvd's if you don't have a dvd either.
when i insert my DVD (only some titles ... example : The Matrix)
there's a msgbox , wanted me to install a software called
Interactual Player / PCfriendly
i cant play them using other softwares .... powerdvd ... windvd ... etc
so, my question
is there a way for me to play these titles without using that Interactual player ?

yes, this is partly true, but DVD discs have 9 tracks, whereas the cd only has 1 track. so if cd drives could read dvd's, they would be only able to read 1/9th of the disc.
