No DVD playback after using DVD-Idle
Recently I bought a Jewel notebook. A pentium 4 2.1 Ghz 512Mb RAM system running windows XP. It contains a QSI SBW-161 combo drive, firmware version SU-03.
To make it regionfree I downloaded DVD-Idle from KaZaa. This appeared to be a beta version but even though it worked perfectly .. for a couple of weeks. After that it suddenly didn't play DVD's anymore.
No problem with Cd's and Cd-Rom's however it won't play DVD's anymore. The disc will just spin a little and then stop. Looking in explorer it says No disk.
Frustrated after a while I completely formatted the harddisk and re-installed windows XP. Still no change.
I then flashed the firmware with a regionfree firmware from "Etna's Page" after reading this forum. This succesfully turned my drive regionfree.. however.. it still doesn't play any DVD's.. still No disk.
Please help.. I'm at a total loss here.
