    Frame skipping

Sometimes when I rip a movie with either DVD Decriptor or Smart ripper I get the same problem. Thorough the movie in places the frames will skip about every 1-2 seconds and repeat in the other languages in the movie. (for example it will play a sec. of English and then play the same sec. again in French or Spanish or maybe even director commentary.) this has happened to me on Shrek, Plannet of the apes, Jay and Silent Bob strike back, and Die Another Day and some more that I can not remember. Does anyone know of anything that I need to check on DVD Decriptor or Smart ripper to stop this?
    Thanks for listening.

I would try cleaning your DVD lens. Most of the time you can find a little disc with a portion of bristles on it one for 10-15$ (USD)

You are describing multi-angle DVDs. If you are ripping the "movie only" (NOT the entire DVD), use DVD Decrypter and from the "Edit" dropdown menu, put a checkmark next to "Multi-angle" and select the one you prefer ("1" is usually the English angle)...

          frame skipping

thanks fot the suggestions but they did not work I am trying to rip the entire DVD so I can burn it with my DVD-R. When I rip the entire DVD I still get the multi angle. I am using Instant Copy to make DVD-9 inot a DVD-5 so I can burn it on one DVD if that helps anyone figure out how to fix it.

          Thanks

"I am trying to rip the entire DVD so I can burn it with my DVD-R. When I rip the entire DVD I still get the multi angle."

That being the case, use DVD Decrypter and make certain that there is NO checkmark in the box labelled "Multi-angle".

Note: If you are "testing" by playing the individual .VOBs from your hard drive, it will APPEAR that you've got a problem with the multi-angles or, perhaps the wrong language. This is NOT actually the case - it's just that the player isn't using the directions that are in the .IFO files for playback. If you know how to play the ripped FULL DVD from your hard drive AS A DVD, you'll see that there really is no problem...
