    High Resolution Playback

I am fairly new to this DVD thing on the computer. I am very familiar with computers and here's the problem: I have a monitor that I got a great deal on but is fixed frequency so it will only operate at 1280 x 1024 and higher. That means all video at any resolution less than that will not show up, or will be all blurry and fuzzed out. Well is there any software out there that can help me view these DVDs or what?

If you presently have a DVD ROM as part of your system, I would ask - have you tried playing a DVD (which is usually at 720x480) and seen this to be true?

If, in fact this is the case, I'd suggest (especially in this day and age) that your "great deal" is not so great after all (No sarcasm intended, just being factual). I can't remember the last year that I saw an ad for a new non-multisynch monitor.

I'd strongly suggest that, if you can afford to do so, the prices on current technology monitors (not flatscreen) are so low, it would be well worth your while to purchase one.

if, in fact, you're set on using this monitor, you'd have to go througha sequence of "ripping" the DVD, converting it to either .AVI or .MPEG2 file format and resizing it to your aforementioned 1280x1024 resolution.
