How to : Play Avi from HD with output to TV ?

So the title say it all.

I was wondering if there was software that allow me to play a DivX AVI on my HD and get the output on my TV via my Video card tv/out ?

Chances are you already have such software installed on your system - from the time you installed your videocard...

Enable TV-out from your graphic card settings. NVIDIA Geforce cards use what is known as 'nView' (included as a part of the Detonator pack) and ATI Radeon cards 'Hydravision' (or 'Twinview'; can't remember which).

Once you have gotten TV-out enabled, simply set Full screen Overlay for the secondary display (your TV, in this case). On ATI cards, the equivalent is done by enabling Theatre mode.
