I'm running a projector from a PC to play DVDs. It's quite old and has a resolution of 640x480. I'm in a PAL region so I need to downscale the video even for 4:3 films.
I used to use my friend's computer with an Nvidia card, and there were no scaling artifacts visible. I've just got a new PC to take over the projector duties and it's just got an on board Trident Blade chipset (+no AGP slot). The scaling artifacts are now terrible unless I zoom the video such that the effective height is 576 (so 96 pixels aren't visible).
Is there any software available that will downscale in realtime with comparable quality to the Nvidia card, or failing that a cheapish PCI card that will do the same job?
