"since DVD-shrinks killes the regionprotection does this also bypass the drives firmware?"

If you mean does DVD Shrink make your drive "region free", the answer is No.

If you mean can DVD Shrink read and decrypt a Region 2 DVD from a Region 1 drive, the answer is No - BUT DVD DEcrypter can do that...

(Edited for typo - "rad" changed to "read")

can you tell me wich version is the one that can bypass the region?. I'm using a DVD Drecypter and that doesn't work with another region different than 1 the other thing is the speed, the maximun speed is 2.0x, is there another DVD Decrypter faster that that?. Is time consuming decrypting a full DVD. Thank you.

there is no version of dvdshrink that is able to alter
        your firmware of your drive.....

dvdshrink is able to remove regional code so that
the copies can be played on any regional set players....

what you are looking for is another type of program

such as "region free" or dvd genie.....

it depends on the type of drive that you use for reading dvds

check the net for your dvd rom drives/dvd writers.....

there might be firmwares around that will set your drive
        regionfree

but note that flashing unauthorized firmware might
harm your drive or void warranty

if dvddecrypter is working that slow I suggest to either update aspi drivers or/and set drive to direct memory access....

a slow rip might also be due to the integrity of the dvd
(scratches, dirt...) or the integrity of your drive.....

        try to clean it!!

          To marquitos

"I'm using a DVD Drecypter and that doesn't work with another region different than 1"

          DVD Decrypter>>Tools>>Settings>>CSS Select "I/O key Exchange>>Brute Force"

"the other thing is the speed, the maximun speed is 2.0x, is there another DVD Decrypter faster that that?."

Am I correct in presuming that you are using a DVD burner for the ripping performed by DVD Decrypter? If so, DVD Decrypter is not the cause of the rip being limited to 2X. All of the burner manufacturers initially "fixed" the speed to a maximum of 2X.

Thanks Shiney #3. My drive is clean, I mean since the first day that I start to using it gives me 2.0x of speed.

Setarip: Yeah you are right I'm using my DVD burner as DVD decrypter and that cuold be the problem of my low speed. There is a way to change that? or I have to buy me a DVD drive just to Decrypte the DVD?. If that is the case then I have more question how I'm going to do to install a 3rd drive if I have already a CD burner and a DVD drive. Well I think that I need tothink about it. So, advice me which is the best way to increase the Decrypter speed?. Thank you for your help.

Check to see if the manufacturer has a firmware update available - which may include an increase to 4x reading...

Thanks Setarip, let check if there is any upgrade on the firmware. Let you know what happens. Thanks again.

                    Hi Setarip:

I updated the firmware version of my DVD burner with no improvement on the decryption speed, still the same 2.0x. What else can I do?. Do you think that maybe I need to buy a DVD reader just to decrypte the DVD? or what else can I do?. I speed like 50 minutes to decrypte a DVD with 2.0x and that is to me a lot of time. Thank you in advance.

If you have an extra bay available, that's an excellent idea (similar to my setup). The readers are certainly inexpensive now - about $40US...

Well no, or probably. The point is that I have a CD Burner on one bay a a DVD burner on the other. The problem could be with the configuration on the PC, maybe a USB DVD drive could do the job. Could ...?
What is the maximum speed that you get with oyur system?. Thank you in advance.

Since a DVD burner can burn CD's and you can't burn a CD and a DVD at the same time can't you put a newer DVD player in the CD writer slot?
This isn't a learning curve ... this is b****y mountaineering!

Yeah, I'm planning to buy a DVD reader and forget about the CD-writer. I spend like 50 minutes everytime that I need to decryte a DVD and you need to add to that the time to compress to one DVD and then the burning process. Thanks for your point.
