    HELP, Soft Cinemaster

Can anyone help, Ive read most post with similar problems but with no avail. I recently had to reinstall win98 with all my other soft ware but since reinstalling everything my dvd player wil not work. It loads up, I put a disc in, the panel display comes on, I get the warning/copyright screen then with the first few seconds it all freezes and I have to cntl-alt-del to clear (if it helps the mouse curser dissapeers when moved over either the panel or display area). it was all working fine before reinstalling everything. Im runnning win98,directx9,softcine 1.5.00.1056 / 1.0.13.2487 by QI for dell. pc is dell xpsr450 (pII 450mhz) 384ram,geforcemx64 video card(32mb ). Iv tried uninstalling and reinstalling but makes no difference. even tried dvd genie.

checkout the back of the cd case windvd serial would be on the sleeve.
if cant find go download new trial verion of windvd and see if that works. get windvd from www.intervideo.com
Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

Thanks will try, cd was in plain cover with graphics card so no number. have since tried newer version of soft cinemaster, now it loads, shows a screen with diplay overlay unavailable but can hear sound track for about 15 seconds before crashing.

update ur display drivers. if have a nvidia card get new detonetors , if got ATi get new catalyst drivers.

also check windvd or powerdvd's trial to see if u got that overlay error before updating drivers. though updating drivers probably solve ur problem

            Getting there (i think)

Hi thanks, can now get player going of sorts, latest nvidea drivers seem to have helped. Sound is a bit distorted, cliping or something on the loud bits. control panel seems a bit slow in responding, now going to try to find these detonators. most annoying thing is it was all working before i had to reload win98, mabe had done more updates then I thought i had. if tried a patch from dell titled rgupdate but it says it cannot find cinemaster on system?? Ive seen update file on here for later version of cinemaster that are held on f drive .com but there are no files there? thanks again to all those taking time to try and help. from me and the kids

yes your right, but i do intend to, updated drivers and detonators, get playback but very all i can say is like jittery? i do have to quit all myother programms as well to get it to play otherwise it stops just after warning screen. also when running panel is still unresponsive, even the "x" to close window doesnt work, have to cntl, alt del to stop mabe now just have to play with dvd genie. Guess im just stubbon, it did work and im dammed if i dont get it to work.

                Thanks again

ps found a paper disk cover that has a number on the back mabe thats my missing number for winfasydvd, will try soon
