making my dvdrom region free

hello,
i have just bought a new p.c. with dvd-rom (from ebay) and i am trying to make it region free, i have tried several sites for the software but no joy, it is a cheap'n'nasty one by "btc" mobel no "bdv316c",
can anyone help?? it has the option to change it myself but only 4 times before its locked!!!!!

There are 2 steps to make your drive region-free:

1. Flash firmware patched to remove region-protection to the drive. Patched (RPC-1) firmware for your drive is linked here:

2. Use a utility like DVD Genie or Region Killer to overcome region-protection in your software player (Power DVD or WinDVD). Note that DVD Genie only deals with the software player -- if you don't patch the firmware as well your allowed region changes will continue to count down until the drive is locked.

An alternative to firmware flashing is utilities like DVD Region Free and Region Selector but these are commercial solutions costing money.
