I started noticing over the past year that many new store bought DVDs will not play on my stand alone player (Grundig GDV130, 3 years old). The disks in question work fine on my PC. Anyway, it took me a while to see a possible connection, by comparing the disks that don't play, and it seems most of them are dual layer. Most single layer and even home burned disks play fine, but on many of the newer ones I get "No Disk" message after the drive dithers for a while. So is it possible that stand alone players are not able to read dual layer disks? Or is it something else? Thanks.
