Compressed DVDs PC vs DVD player

Any DVDs I compress inevitably start to jump and skip on my player. Yet the same DVDs play fine on the PC. I would appreciate any comments or insights into this problem. Thank you

1) Try a different (better quality) brand of media

2) Run a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your standalone player. Maxell makes one that retails for approximately $10US...
