No Video In XP-PRO WINDVD Pioneer

    Hello Everyone !

I might miss a few details here but maybe someone has experienced this before. I'm trying to play an original commercial DVD with WINDVD and I'm not seeing Video. I can hear it and I can also take Screenshots in WinDVD and actually see them in the screen shots folder but still cant get live video to play. I can catch a glimpse of video but thats only for a split second when I close the window. Any thing related to Windows XP ? Or win DVD ? as a Side note..when I turn on the Harware compressiion and color setting in WINDVD the DVD wont play at all. Thanks in advance !! The DVD Player seems to do everything else though except playing DVD Video !!!
    Thanks ! Joe From Ohio....

Maybe your video is going to the TV out on your graphics card!

    Check your Display Props/Settings/Advanced...
for Overlay/Mirror/Full Screen or whatever as you
don't mention what video card you got.

Do you get the video if you use other DVD playback software?

joemamma, I had exactly the same problem. A brief glimpse of the visuals as I shut down in frustration. Do you have an old GF3 Ti200 or similar? If so, try this, which solved the problem for me.

      R-click Desktop/Properties/Settings/Advanced/Troubleshoot

Disable 'write combining', reboot and try to watch DVD again, hopefully you will now see everything.

          graphics card

          i have a geforce 2 32 mb

and i had video and audio playing when i used blazedvd.

blaze would not let me change th aspect ratio so i could not view the whole screen image.

            Exact same problem

I have this exact same problem:

            windvd 4
            radeon 9700 pro

i have perfect audio, can screengrab and see the screenshots but all i get when the video is playing is a pink screen - i've already tried disabling write combining to no effect and i've insured that video isn't going to tv out - anyone else got any other ideas - this is really winding me up - thanks for the help

              Resolved

              hey dudes,

i managed to fix my problem.

what i didnot state is that 1-2 days previous to installing my dvd drive, i downloaded and installed the latest 'generic' geforce driver.

i uninstalled that, and re installed my old driver (off the disk) and every thing seemed to be fine. (in WinDVD)

              maybe this will help someone.
