        Not the thread's question, after all, I have telly surround enabled, so "placed" speakers aren't necessary.

        Some discern difference by hearing a noticeable difference with surround enabled and then when surround disabled. If a difference with surround (clearer, etc.) when enabled, then, something is working somewhat.

        You could start another thread, unless somebody has a quick answer, etc..

        If no answer soon, look at online trouble shooting guide (in Audigy software package) and look for surround settings, after all, now that sound is working, so......!
