Any suggestions for a good program that can convert DVD Vobs/IFOs to an AVI file(preferably compressed with Divx, but uncompressed maybe so I can use virtual dub). I have tried Ripitall and Flaskmpeg, but the audio and video streams start out fine but about 20 minutes or so in movies they start drifting away from each other...
Whats a good DVD to AVI program?

Oh I prefer the dvddrypter, Flask, bit rate calc, radeon audio codec and divX 4.0 combo myself. Now, there is a file, no doubt you are getting ads in your email for....that I feel is TOO hard for the beginner. The Nicky pages on how to do all this are well written in this area. While it works for many using an all in one Gui, I prefer NOT using two "swipes" of the avi file and dubbing.
I prefer all at once when I sleep.
Just my 2 cents.

Good thing!
Hi, I found a good software: DVDCutter, it can help U do it in one
step, let you get an avi movie with sound, and compressed by DivX. Altogether it's worthy of your trying, can find it from:

bad audio-video synchro
When the sound doesn't match with the video in the film that I rip, I use "avifrate" a simple program that change the frame rate of your video. So by modifiying the lengh of the video it can match with the audio. For exemple, when I encode a divx with flaskmpeg at 30fps video and 22khz 40kit/s audio stereo, I have to set the video frame rate at 29.9967 with avifrate and the new frame rate is the same for all movies that I encode that way.Comment
